How to: Share a folder on a network.
Solution:
Enable the 'Sharing' option in the 'Properties' dialog box.
1) Open Windows Explorer.

2) In the left pane, double-click the drive containing the folder you want to share.
3) If necessary, double-click the folder containing the subfolder you want to share.
4) Select the folder you want to share.
5) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Properties'. (The '<folder> Properties' dialog box appears, where <folder> is the name of the folder you selected.)
6) Click the 'Sharing' tab.
7) Select the 'Shared As' radio button.

8) Type a name for the shared folder, or accept the default, in the 'Share Name' box.
9) (Optional) Add any comments to other users in the 'Comment' box.
10) To specify the type of access you want others to have to the folder, do one of the following in the 'Access Type' group:
a) To give others read-only access, select the 'Read-Only' radio button.
b) To give others full read-and-write access, select the 'Full' radio button.
c) To have both options available to others based on what password they have, select the 'Depends on Password' radio button.
11) To specify a password or passwords for read-only and/or full access, do one or both of the following in the 'Passwords' group:
NOTE: Depending on the radio button selected in step 10), one of the boxes in the 'Passwords' group may be grayed out.
a) In the 'Read-Only Password' box, type the password others will need to access the folder as read-only.
b) In the 'Fill Access Password' box, type the password others will need to access the folder to read it AND make changes.
12) Click 'OK'.
